The Griffin is a mytholgical creature with the head of an eagle and the body of a lion. The eagle is King of the Skies and the lion, King of Beasts and thus, the Griffin has dominion over land and sky.
The Griffin is an emblem
of power and longevity whilst red signifies creativity, vitality, strength
and passion.
It is said that a Griffin's feather will cure blindness and a drinking cup
made from the Griffin's claw will warn the drinker of the presence of poison
by changing colour.
